AKLAN – Police operatives captured three of the province’s most wanted persons in separate operations carried out from May 13 to 14.
The operation began at around 10:20 p.m. on May 13, when officers from the Nabas Municipal Police Station (MPS), together with the Aklan Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Team and Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, caught the No. 5 most wanted person in Barangay Magallanes, Nabas.
The suspect, a 27-year-old cargo porter identified by the alias “Jis,” is facing two counts of qualified rape of a minor under the Revised Penal Code. The Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 3 in Kalibo, Aklan has recommended no bail for his temporary release.
On the morning of May 14, authorities served warrants for two other high-profile suspects currently held at the Aklan Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Barangay Nalook, Kalibo.
Alias “Abe,” 20, a resident of Boracay Island in Malay town, is ranked No. 1 fugitive at both the provincial and municipal levels. He faces charges of sexual assault. His warrant, issued by RTC Branch 5, carries a recommended bail of P120,000.
The 20-year-old alias “Rine,” also a resident of Boracay Island, was classified as the No. 2 most wanted in the province. He was served a warrant for sexual assault under Republic Act 8353. The arrest was executed at 8:18 a.m. by a joint team from Malay MPS, Kalibo MPS, and the Aklan Maritime Police Station. Bail was likewise set at P120,000.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of Police Regional Office 6, lauded the operating units for their relentless pursuit of justice.
