Tighter security on Bacolod-Silay access road mulled

BACOLOD City – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) City Engineering District sought help from city police chief Colonel Henry Biñas after several anchor bolts of streetlights along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road were reportedly stolen.

DPWH district engineer Abraham Villareal said 18 bolts securing streetlight poles were missing.

“Some of the streetlights only have one out of four remaining bolts, making it dangerous for vehicles passing the area,” he stressed.

The missing bolts were immediately replaced, according to Villareal.

“We need an immediate action to apprehend these suspects and avoid possible accidents,” he said.

Villareal also reiterated the need to secure the area.

“We seek help from the Bacolod City Police Office to enforce strict security at the area and deploy policemen to conduct regular monitoring,” he said./PN
