ILOILO City – Pavia town requires businessmen to secure Social Security System (SSS) and Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) clearances first in getting a Mayor’s permit to operate their business establishments.

According to Ramy Madero, municipal budget officer of Pavia, they have received Memorandum Circular No. 01 series of 2014 from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), PhilHealth and SSS late December last year. It states that there is a new procedure in securing clearances from government agencies in renewing business permits.

“The DILG, SSS and PhilHealth have sent a secular order and at the same time a list of business establishments,” he said, adding that the town cannot issue a business permit if the businessmen have not secured the other requirements.

The requirements in getting a Mayor’s permit are barangay clearance, assessor’s certification, fire safety certificate, health certificate, occupancy permit and SSS certificate.

Madero encouraged business owners to come to their office for further inquiries./PN
