BACOLOD City – Personnel from the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) will join the command center of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to help secure the 21-day MassKara Festival next month.
CDRRMO cluster head Joemarie Vargas said this was planned a long time ago but only now it was realized.
The traffic enforcers will be additions to the command center composed of CDRRMO personnel and the police, he added.
They will be deployed to areas in the city where emergency response is needed.
The BTAO personnel will be tasked to decongest traffic to allow a smooth flow of response, especially in cases when an ambulance is needed, Vargas said.
They will also be in charge of response communication and other traffic-related emergencies, he added./PN
