BACOLOD City – Why did a motorcycle-riding person shoot a truck driver?
Police were still trying to find out.
Jimmy Arturo of Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental sustained a gunshot wound on the thigh.
The 29-year-old was confined at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, also in Silay City.
The shooting happened on May 14 in Hacienda Chloe, Barangay Rizal, Sagay City, police said.
While investigation was ongoing, the Sagay City police was able to identify the suspect only as “Metoda” of Escalante City.
The suspect fled after the shooting, police said, citing investigation.
Arturo was aide Michael Yanson delivering gasoline at around 6 p.m. on Monday in Barangay Dian-ay, Escalante City when the latter noticed a motorcycle trailing them, police said.
Believing the motorcycle driver will try to hold them up, Arturo sped toward Sagay City, but the former cornered them, said the police.
The gunman remained at large as of this writing. Police were still trying to pin down the motive./PN
