Two dead in motorcycle mishap

BACOLOD City – Two men riding in tandem in a motorcycle were killed after hitting a road-side railing as they negotiated a curve near Abad Bridge in Lacson Extension, Barangay Taculing and Barangay 41, here around 3 a.m. Friday.

Police Station 6 investigator Police Officer 3 BJ Geron identified the victims as Dimple Ermeo, of Bago City, Negros Occidental, and Romel Baones, 26, of Barangay Mambugsay, Cauayan town. Both, temporarily residing in Rodriquez Baybay, Barangay 36, were merchandisers of a local department store in Bacolod City.

Police said the Ermeo was maneuvering their motorcycle around the curve when they hit a railing and lost control of the vehicle. The two were reportedly not wearing helmets.

Ermeo and Baones were immediately brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for medical attention but the former was declared “dead on arrival.” Baones was admitted into the same hospital but died around 6 a.m. on Friday./PN
