Two fugitives fall in Aklan

AKLAN – Police here arrested two of the most wanted persons during separate manhunt operations on June 18.

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) said one of the fugitives was identified as alias “Ariel”, 45. The farmer was facing qualified rape of a minor charge and listed as the No. 10 most wanted person at the provincial level and No. 1 most wanted at the municipal level.

He was served the warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 3 in Kalibo, dated June 11, 2026, while confined at Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital in Barangay Poblacion, Kalibo town. No bail was recommended for his temporary release.

The other fugitive was identified as the 30-year-old laborer alias “JP,” tagged as No. 1 most wanted of New Washington town for three counts of qualified theft. He was arrested by officers of the New Washington police station at the town’s Sitio Gangawan, Barangay Jugas.

According to the Aklan Police Provincial Office, the RTC Sixth Judicial Region in Kalibo set the bail at P24,000 for each count for JP’s provisional liberty./PN
