CAPIZ – Two riders were injured in a collision between two motorcycles along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas town on Sunday night, August 3.
Police Major Alfred De Leon, chief of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station (MPS), said both motorcycles were traversing the same direction towards Pontevedra town when the accident occurred.
Initial police investigation revealed that alias “Karl”, 47, a resident of Sitio Swa C, Barangay Poblacion, attempted to overtake the motorcycle driven by alias “Bobby”, 20, of Barangay Jolongahog, Pontevedra. The former however lost control of his vehicle, leading to a collision near a convenience store.
Karl suffered head injury and bruises. He was rushed by emergency responders to the Bailan District Hospital but was later transferred to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Bobby, meanwhile, sustained minor injuries and was brought to the Rural Health Unit of President Roxas.
De Leon said both riders don’t have a valid driver’s license. Their motorcycles were impounded at the President Roxas MPS for proper processing and disposition./PN
