Unidentified gunman shoots down alleged serial criminal

BACOLOD City – An individual with a string of pending court cases was gunned down by an unidentified suspect around 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday along the national highway in Caminos Street, Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City.

Police identified the victim as Segundino Pescador De Oro, Jr., “Alias Amay”,  40, of Barangay Langub, Escalante City.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his face, bringing his immediate death, although he was still brought to Dr. Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City for examination.

The victim was shot by an unidentified suspect in front of Elmer Caminos, beside Seven Star Bakery and a parking terminal going to 5- Star Barangay. The unknown suspect managed to flee from the scene.

De Oro  holds a string of pending cases, among them illegal possession of firearms, robbery and carnapping – all the while being allegedly involved in illegal drugs and in a series of robbery and hold-up incidents in Escalante City.

Police are still investigating a motive for the shooting and the identity of the unidentified gunman./PN
