
BALETE, Aklan – Town officials here, all unopposed in the May 9 elections, have taken their oath of office and are poised to begin their new terms today.
Provincial Prosecutor Ma. Maya Bien Mayor-Tolentino administered the oath of office for Balete mayor Dexter Mationg Calizo at the Balete Mayor Teodoro F. Calizo Sr. Memorial Civic Center on June 24.
With a fresh term to serve Baletenons from 2022 to 2025, Calizo – who ran unopposed for his third term – vowed to continue the programs and projects that improve the lives of his constituents.
Calizo thanked the electorate, supporters of Grupo Oeunongan and his family.
“Madinaeag-on kita bukon eamang sa patag it pulitika, kundi pati man sa pagpamanwa. Ako nagapati sa atung amat-amat ag pursigido natun nga paghimakas, mabana bana natun ru Balete nga mas mayad pa kaysa ku kahapon,” he stressed.
Calizo also thanked outgoing Aklan governor Florencio Miraflores, Aklan 1st District’s Cong. Carlito Marquez and Aklan 2nd District’s Cong. Teodorico Haresco, Jr. for supporting the town’s coronavirus pandemic response.
He also cited rural health workers, teachers, barangay officials, department heads and the councilors for uniting in the fight against the pandemic.
Vice Mayor Patrick Felipe Lachica, now on his second term, and the Sangguniang Bayan members also took their oath of office before Prosecutor Mayor-Tolentino.
The unopposed councilors are Roman Recidoro Villaruel, Jose Roger Dionesio Feliciano, Karl Villanueva Yasa, Prescilla Gale Solis Calizo, Evelyn Victoriano Villanueva, Ralph Besa Cleope, Crispino Palmon Beltran, Jr., and Inocentes Fernandez Bantique Jr./PN
