THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced that there are more than 10,000 products produced by Filipinos available on onestore.ph.

These quality products that were produced by our countrymen range from food, furniture, handicrafts, jewelry, and metal works.

oneSTore is an e-commerce Website that is operated by the DOST.

The number of available products reached 10,000 last Dec. 27, 2016.

“We are happy to have made 10,000 products available for purchase before the year (2016) ends.” said Engineer Sancho A. Mabborang, oneSTore Project Leader.

It was learned that oneSTore was launched in July 2015 with only 200 local products made and manufactured by DOST-assisted Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Since then, Jacqueline Rivera, together with Jerson Macarubbo, and all oneSTore Regional Coordinators worked very hard to make these products available to a larger customer base.

According to Rivera, a large portion of the 10,000 are products of Region-7 (Central Visayas).

These include high-quality handicrafts, furniture, and jewelry made from indigenous materials.

The enrolment of these products was made possible by the Region-7 oneSTore Coordinator Tony Lucmayon.

The said products that came from the different parts of the Philippines are now available on onestore.ph, with logistics and payment solutions for a complete e-commerce experience.

Last September, oneSTore, together with the giants of e-commerce in the country, joined the E-Commerce Show Philippines 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

Started in 2015, the E-Commerce Show aims to strengthen e-commerce in certain parts of the world.

It is an event where executives and experts on the different aspects of e-commerce, like logistics providers, payment solutions, manufacturers, start-ups, and marketing agencies, come together.

Last year, the E-commerce Show Philippines was organized to serve as a venue for top-notch e-commerce players to create a network that can strengthen the e-commerce industry in the country.

Mabborang, who is also the regional director of the Region-2 office of the DOST, was one of the esteemed presenters in the two-day activity.

His presentation entitled “Engaging Philippine Products to Global Market through E-Commerce Platform” discussed oneSTore’s rationale, mission and vision, beneficiaries, and plans.

As discussed by Mabborang, oneSTore is an e-commerce Website which features Filipino products manufactured by MSMEs that are assisted by the DOST.

It aims to open a whole new market for Filipino MSMEs beyond the confines of their vicinity.

A total of 1,600 visitors coming from all over the world attended the event and esteemed participants and exhibitors included Clickwise, SISA, Ameyo, SLICeR, ezeego, Unilever,iPay, ecPay, Bit Group, VeritasPay, Lazada, and many others.

Visitors also included entrepreneurs and businessmen in the Philippines and abroad.

The DOST said oneSTore.ph is an e-commerce Web Application that operates nationwide and caters primarily to Philippine consumers.

oneSTore primarily helps the DOST’s assisted MSMEs widen the scope of their target market.

It can help deliver economic growth and increase business opportunities.

oneSTore provides customers with an effortless shopping experience and retailers with simple and direct access to the largest customer base in the Philippines./PN
