MANILA – Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro denied being an “attack dog” of the government following her blunts remarks towards the critics of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
According to Castro, she was just doing her job by defending the Chief Executive from fake news and statements from his critics, particularly from the Dutertes.
“Attack dog ba ang matatawag ‘yung dumidepensa lang tayo? So, tayo ang gagawa ng mga sagot na tamat. Ididepensa lang natin ang Pangulo,” Castro said on Friday.
“Hindi naman ito pagdepensa lang sa Pangulo, hindi lang ito pagdepensa sa Palasyo – pagdepensa ito para sa katotohanan. Kasi kapag hindi natin ito sinagot nang naaayon sa katotohanan, mabubulag tayong lahat,” she added.
Castro had issued blunt remarks towards former president Rodrigo Duterte, whom she recently called an expert in sowing intrigues and planting evidence.
She also scored on Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio and Davao City’s Mayor Sebastian Duterte, saying that the country was in a much worse situation during their father’s administration.
“Sino ba iyong nauna? Kasi may issue, okay, kapag may issue tungkol — that the President is gearing towards dictatorship. Paano ito sasagutin? Magpapaka-‘ay, sorry po”? Hindi ako iyon eh, hindi tayo ganon,” Castro said.
“Lawyer ako, lawyer din naman si dating Pangulong Duterte. Sa bawat sanang salita na bibitawan niya, dapat mayroon siyang pang-back up, may ebidensiya siya,” she added./PN
