UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers will test its revamped lineup when it faces Sky Cable-Iloilo in an exhibition match on June 19 at the gymnasium of Bingawan, Iloilo.
The game set at 5 p.m. will follow the championship match of the Bingawan Foundation Cup National Preseason High School Basketball Premier Tournament at 3 p.m.
Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo said the match will help the team further develop chemistry as the players prepare for the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball season in September.
“The team is still a work in progress and games like this will be helpful,” Ayo said. “Since we are also in Bingawan, we will take this opportunity for our team-building (activity).”
Set to suit up for Tigers are Marvin Lee, Steve Akomo, Zachary Huang, Enrique Caunan, Henri Subido, Mario Bonleon Jr., CJ Cansino, Kenneth Zamora, Ferdinand Asuncion, Nat Cosejo, Joshua Marcos, Toby Agustin, and Ira Battaler.
Sky Cable intends to keep the core of its lineup from the Iloilo Governor’s Cup National Invitational Basketball Championships led by MVP Willie Miller and mythical team members Rodrigue Ebondo and Mark Yee.
Also in the roster are Hubert John Ferriols, Christian Kakonda, Chito Jaime, Allan Mangahas, Leomar Losentes, Ricardo Cawaling, Felix Apreku, Rudy Lingganay, Andrei Pantin, and Mel Mabigat.
