ILOILO City – The busy festive season did not stop Uswag Ilonggo Partylist’s Cong. Jojo Ang, together with Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. and Cong. Michael Gorriceta, from officially breaking ground and finally laying the capsule on the P85-million worth of sports complex and school building he considered another “gift” to the Ilonggo youth.

The P55-million sports complex to rise in Sta. Barbara Central Elementary School is targeted to benefit the people of the 2nd District of Iloilo. The project features a grandstand and an Olympic-sized track oval to be used for various events and trainings for the youth.

Soon to rise as well is the P30-million Phase 1 of the proposed three units of two-storey four-classroom school buildings for the same school. This is to address the growing need for better school facilities for the rising student population of Sta. Barbara town.

This is just one of the many school buildings and school facilities improvement Uswag Ilonggo Partylist has brought to Region 6, in partnership with the Department of Education.

Sta. Barbara’s Mayor Superficial also expressed his gratitude for the project, saying “Ini nga proyekto magabutang gid sa Sta. Barbara sa limelight for sports and education.
