Vallacar buses to serve Bacolod health workers

BACOLOD City – Giant bus firm Vallacar Transit Inc. is deploying 21 buses to provide daily transport to healthcare personnel to and from various hospitals in this city.

The company said it is coordinating with the city government to deploy the buses during the enhanced community quarantine from March 30 until April 14 due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The buses will not only ferry healthcare workers but also persons who would need to access basic commodities.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, who chairs the City Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19, said that home quarantine pass holders are also allowed to ride on the bus for free.

The point of origin of these buses is Bacolod Cathedral and various police stations this city. The buses will pass through the designated bus stop areas around the city.

The bus is 40-seater but due to social distancing only 20 persons will be accommodated./PN

  1. While maintaining social distancing, please designate separate vehicles for persons who need access to basic needs from medical and other frontline personnel.
