BACOLOD City – A female council member of one of the barangays in this city is facing a complaint for allegedly having an affair with a married man.
A complaint affidavit from the man’s wife was received by the Sangguniang Panglungsod on May 28.
The complainant said that in 2010, she discovered that her husband was having an affair with a village official.
She added that the extramarital affair happened while she was working abroad.
The husband also admitted the affair when she confronted him, the complainant revealed.
The complainant’s husband has two children with the barangay official, the affidavit said.
The affidavit also stated that the husband gives financial support to his children with his alleged mistress, but gives none to his children with the complainant.
The affair had caused mental anguish and shame on their family, the complainant said.
The complainant further said that the barangay official, as a government employee, should be an example of honesty and integrity.
Identities of the people involved are withheld upon the request of the Sangguniang Panglungsod./PN
