BACOLOD City – We are ready.
Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said this after the reported sightings of an armed group in some areas of the province.
“If these sightings are true, they (armed men) are planning an attack to get firearms,” Castil said.
Police stations are vulnerable to these attacks, he added.
The Nocppo director sent reinforcement units to areas where sightings were reported. Police stations are on alert, Castil said.
In Candoni, an armed group allegedly attacked the municipal police. Castil, however, was not able to confirm this.
Moreover, there are around 10 to 15 armed men sighted in Barangay La Granja, La Carlota City, said village chief Doloroso Maguad.
Superintendent Crescenciano Cordero, officer-in-charge of the La Carlota police, said they already advised the public to be on alert and report suspicious activities to the police./PN
