ILOILO City – Facing rape charges, the seventh most wanted person in Western Visayas was arrested on Tuesday, June 10, in Barangay Badlan Pequeño, Calinog, Iloilo.
The 66-year-old alias “Salmon” was taken into custody by the Calinog Municipal Police Station after he was caught through an arrest warrant for the crime of two counts of rape by carnal knowledge in relation to Article 266-A, paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act (RA) 8353 in relation to RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
Calinog police said the suspect was charged for two counts of rape after a minor tagged him as the one who raped her sometime last year.

He also extended his appreciation to the Ilonggo community for their continuous support to the police.
“The IPPO stands firm to run after wanted persons to bring justice for the victims’ family,” Bulalacao said.
He added that the successful apprehension of the aforementioned fugitive aligns with the IPPO’s strategic direction to actively pursue and bring wanted persons to justice.
Meanwhile, the IPPO had arrested 47 fugitives in a week of operations across the province.
From June 1 to 8, various police stations carried out 47 operations which resulted to the arrest of 47 wanted persons, of whom five belonged to the top 10 most wanted list and the rest were accused of lesser offenses./PN
