Winners of May 12 polls in Aklan proclaimed

AKLAN – The May 12 national and local elections in this province were conducted peacefully and successfully with Gov. Joen Miraflores leading the winners.

The incumbent governor was re-elected with 232,694 votes, defeating Pier Teodosio (68,752 votes) and Willie Tolentino (9,362 votes).

Similarly, Vice Gov. Dexter Calizo was re-elected with 151,921 votes, narrowly defeating Jun Legaspi, who received 151,162 votes.

In the congressional race, Papa Jess Marquez won in the 1st District with 88,054 votes, defeating Rodell Ramos, who earned 75,286 votes.

In the 2nd District, former governor Joeben Miraflores clinched victory with 88,795 votes, besting incumbent Cong. Nonong Haresco with 85,253 votes, and Jun Tanumtanu, who received 685 votes.

Meanwhile, the top 5 Provincial Board members are the following:

1st District

* Mark Ace Bautista – 90,558 votes

* Atty. Boy Quimpo – 88,998 votes

* Mark Quimpo – 86,430 votes

* Teddy Tupas – 66,252 votes

* Apol Cleope – 54,434 votes

2nd District

* Jose Haresco – 92,199 votes

* Lolong Dalisay – 74,398 votes

* Jojo Cordova – 69,767 votes

* Atty. Bubi Legaspi – 69,542 votes

* Jupiter Gallenero – 68,247 votes

Additionally, the proclaimed winning mayors in Aklan’s 17 municipalities are the following:

* Altavas – Bulldog Refol (7,692 votes)

* Balete – Prescilla Gale Calizo (13,857 votes, unopposed)

* Banga – Boy Redison (10,696 votes)

* Batan – Mike Ramos (11281 votes)

* Buruanga – Nonoy Allan Dagohoy (6,131 votes)

* Ibajay – Miguel Miraflores (23,952 votes, unopposed)

* Kalibo – Juris Sucro (31,839 votes)

* Lezo – Meekia Icasas (6,438 votes)

* Libacao – Vincent Navarosa (9,004 votes)

* Madalag – Rex Gubatina (8,334 votes, unopposed)

* Makato – Langkoy Mationg (10,204 votes)

* Malay – Frolibar Bautista (18,189 votes)

* Malinao – Josephine Iquiña (8,550 votes)
