BACOLOD City – A woman was shot dead on Sunday night in Purok Islamic in Barangay 31.
Police Station 6 head Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, identified the victim as Irene Chican, of legal age, married and a resident of the area.
The victim sustained four gunshots to her head and body. Her 2-year-old companion also sustained wounds.
The victim was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but declared DOA (dead on arrival) by Dr. Kristiane Paciente around 7:15 p.m.
Police said the victim was driving her E-bike (electric bicycle) with the 2-year-old passenger when she was suddenly approached by an unidentified suspect and shot four times in the head and body.
Police are still investigating the motive for the incident./PN
