ILOILO – A 35-year-old man was stabbed dead by his live-in partner early yesterday morning, November 7, in Barangay Dagami, Maasin town, following an alleged confrontation over suspicions of infidelity.

According to the Maasin Municipal Police Station, live-in partners identified as aliases “Ron” and “Tintin”, 48, had been drinking with the latter’s cousin the previous night.

The cousin reportedly left earlier, and when Tintin awoke later, Ron was not around. She went to her cousin’s home where she saw Ron knocking on the door, police said.

In a sudden escalation, Tintin reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Ron. The victim sustained severe injuries on his stomach and died on the spot.

Police said the suspect denied jealousy as the motive, claiming it was Ron who often felt insecure about their relationship.

As of this writing, police were still investigating to clarify the events leading to the tragic incident.

The suspect is currently detained at the Maasin Municipal Police Station. She may face murder charges./PN
