
ILOILO City – The Department of Tourism (DOT) in Western Visayas is getting a new head as the current regional director retires effective April 17.
DOT Region 6 director Helen Catalbas announced the appointment of Cristine Mansinares as new officer-in-charge.
Mansinares – former Provincial Tourism Officer of Negros Occidental – is the current Chief Promotion Tourism Officer of DOT-6.
In an interview, Catalbas said Mansinares was among the five candidates who vied for the position of regional director of DOT-6.
Catalbas became the officer-in-charge of DOT-6 in 2011 after then director Edwin Trompeta retired.
In 2012, the President Benigno Aquino III appointed her as acting regional director. She became a full-fledged regional director in 2016./PN
