ILOILO City – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region 6 has successfully registered 6,897,434 residents to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) as of December 27, 2024.
This remarkable accomplishment represents 99.65% of the region’s target of 6,921,505, underscoring the agency’s dedication to making PhilSys accessible to all residents of Western Visayas.
Among the region’s notable achievements, PSA Antique brought PhilSys registration services to the remote communities of Semirara and Caluya Islands, registering 1,820 residents from November 4 to 16. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Caluya and Barangay Semirara, ensured that residents in geographically isolated areas could participate in the program without the burden of long-distance travel. The activity also included the Rehistro Bulilit campaign, focused on registering children aged one to four, highlighting PSA Antique’s commitment to inclusivity.
PSA Region 6 employed a range of strategies to reach residents across the provinces. PSA-based and mall-based registration centers offered accessible locations in urban and suburban areas, while LGU-based fixed and mobile registrations extended services to rural and remote communities.
Partnerships with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) facilitated collocated registration during Family Development Sessions (FDS), making it easier for beneficiaries to register.
Efforts to register children aged zero to four years old have been a significant focus, with 94,619 children registered out of a projected population of 767,866 for this age group. Initiatives such as Rehistro Bulilit created a child-friendly registration process to encourage participation.
Looking ahead, PSA Region 6 plans to implement hospital-based registration in 2025 to seamlessly enroll newborns into the National ID system and further expand coverage.
Collaborations with schools, workplaces, and community organizations have further broadened the reach of the program. School-based registration campaigns and mobile services allowed more students and community members to access the benefits of PhilSys.
As the region builds on this year’s achievements, PSA Region 6 remains steadfast in its mission to bring the National ID system to all residents of the region.
