EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD Renzo Vergara who hailed from Dao, Antique will serenade his kasimanwa in a two-day concert as his way of gratitude for the support that he has earned in his journey to stardom.
Renzo will showcase his singing prowess on September 10, 6 p.m., at the Municipal Covered Court of Tobias Fornier; while on September 12 at 6 p.m., he will be performing at the University of Antique Gym in Sibalom town.
Dubbed “Revere,” Renzo’s concert will feature other homegrown artists of Antique like Mario “Super Mario” Espino, the DCHS Hubon Glee Club, UA Dance Ensemble, Teatro Antqueño, UA Chorale, UA Cultural, Voice Power, Franz Bangcaya Tumblod, Sammy Rubido, Dante Beriong, Mark Quintela, Rennel Vanford V. Celorico, Florecel Vergara, Selver Rica V. Celorico, Nicole Cazenas, Claire Alyssa “Candy” Dimzon, Joanna Rose Cabanas and Jigger Edsel Belida.
Just recently, Renzo launched his self-produced debut album, which is comprised of his original compositions like “The Girl” and “See Each Other Again.” The album also includes his own renditions of classic OPM ballads and features his collaboration with veteran music arranger Paulo Zarate who has worked with Kris Lawrence, Charice Pempengco, Toni Gonzaga, Aiza Seguera and Eric Santos, among others.
Renzo was also recently nominated as one of the Best New Male Recording Artist for the 2014 Star Awards for Music.
The young singer/composer was first discovered when he joined the reality show, “Star Camp” which was aired in MYX TV USA.
Aside from his concert in Antique, Renzo is also busy for his countrywide mall tours, performances, album signings and guesting.
