ILOILO City – Inconsistencies in the statements of an alleged robbery victim in Badiangan, Iloilo baffled the police.

Jinky Ramirez claimed two bonnet-wearing robbers barged into her house in Barangay Bingauan, Badiangan and took P235,000 cash.

Ramirez told an investigator she woke up around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11 to find the suspects already in her house.

But the details later changed, according to Inspector Henry Gaborno.

“In a follow-up interview, Ramirez told the investigator she saw only one suspect inside. After gaining entry through a window, he opened the door for his cohort,” Gaborno told Panay News in Hiligaynon.

Gaborno stressed they doubted the alleged victim’s claims.

“First she told us the suspects took her money, and then later she said her jewelry were the ones taken,” said the officer. “After the incident, Ramirez claimed, she just sat there and broke down.”

Later the police found out only the P235,000 cash were taken, no jewelry or even cell phones, Gaborno said.

The Badiangan police were still looking into the case./PN
