BACOLOD City – Police were still trying to determine the motive in the stabbing of a 26-year-old resident of Doña Juliana Subdivision in Barangay Taculing.

Lorenzo Cordova sustained stab wounds on the armpit, nose and neck. He was confined in a private hospital.

Police identified the suspect as Jesus Atas of Barangay Estefania.

The incident happened in front of the Hi-Strip V Building on Circumferential Road in Barangay Taculing, said Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, Police Station 4 commander.

Cordova and a friend were about to ride a tricycle around 9 p.m. on May 22 when Atas charged at the victim, Bonilla said.

The suspect fled after the incident./PN
