ILOILO – If you think only illegal drugs can drive people mad, think again.
A drinking spree in Barangay Gines Nuevo, San Enrique town led to the fatal stabbing of a 43-year-old man.
Raymundo Paz was taken to the Don Valerio Palmares District Hospital in the component city of Passi but was declared “dead on arrival.” He died of a stab wound on the lower left chest.
The suspect: his 62-year-old uncle, Godofredo Corpuz of Barangay Paga, San Enrique.
Prior to the stabbing, both were drinking alcoholic beverage in Paz’s house around 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.
“Wala man ni sila hiligut-anon sa isa kag isa,” said Chief Inspector Herman Celiz, San Enrique police chief. “Nag-inom-inom lang sila, amo man lang na.”
Police were unable to recover the knife Corpuz allegedly used.
Corpuz was detained in the San Enrique police station lockup cell./PN
