MANILA – TNT rookie Roger Pogoy promised to break his scoring slump when their 2017 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship series against San Miguel resumes with Game 4 on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

After scoring a career-best 27 points in Katropa’s 104-102 victory over Beermen in Game 1, the Cebuano guard was held scoreless in the following two matches, including a sour 0-for-13 shooting in Game 3 on Sunday night.

Kapag tumitira ako may challenge na talaga,” the former Far Eastern University Tamaraws gunner added.

TNT head coach Nash Racela does not find Pogoy’s failure to score in the previous two games a cause for concern. He is counting on his prized rookie in the other aspects of the game.

“OK lang. Again, as long as he’s making the right decisions, taking the shots that he needs to take,” said Racela. “Kung open, ganoon. If it doesn’t go in, walang problema, ganoon talaga.”

Pogoy was also fined P30,000 for hitting the groin of Beermen forward Arwind Santos during Game 2 of the Finals series on June 23. The incident led to the TNT forward’s ejection from that game./PN
