FASHION trends come and go, but some choose to stay. There will always be classics, but there are also one-hit wonders. Some – which are all over social media, TV, and the runways – become obsolescent.Β  It has always been like that every year.

Now that 2017 is just another part of history and a new year is unfolding before our very eyes, it is also this time that we say goodbye, sayonara, auf wiedersehen to some fashion trends. We will meet them again next time, or maybe never.

MILLENNIAL PINK

The year 2017 was definitely full of millennial pinks. It was the trendiest color – for every celebrity, in every Instagram feed, and on the runways. The color was definitely flattering; it has the right amount of sweetness. It is a time to give it a rest and switch to bolder colors such as ultra violet and red.

CHOKER

For the past two years, the choker ruled the fashion world. From Taylor Swift to Kendall Jenner to Kim Kardashian to Gigi Hadid – name it. Almost every woman – regardless of their age – was obsessed with the choker trend. Sure, it was a nice comeback for the choker. But for now, we will have to say goodbye.

OFF-THE-SHOULDER, COLD SHOULDER

They were everywhere. And goodness gracious, let 2018 welcome new necklines. According to marieclaire.com, the single shoulder will still be cool, β€œthough you might want to start working on your obliques, as the single exposed side-ab is coming up in in the fashion world.”

POM-POMS

The pom-pom embellishment was the favorite summer trend in 2017. But admit it: this kind of trend isn’t going to stay long. Until next time.

CORSET BELTS

It made a powerful comeback, with the Kardashians and Jenners donning them everywhere. However, this trend was a little tricky and definitely not too wearable.

FANNY PACKS

Fanny packs – they were the go-to bag on the streets. This year, it is time to leave them as part of history. They may come back but definitely not soon.

SHORT DRESSES

Keep your short dresses for now. This year is a year for long dresses.

Well, all good things must come to an end. Good luck curating your wardrobe!/PN
