SAN JOSE, Antique – The National Food Authority (NFA) reminds grains businessmen in the province to renew their licenses on their scheduled month to avoid surcharges and corresponding penalties.
Business owners engaging in rice, corn and cereal trading and processing should comply with Philippine Grains Standardization Program and pertinent provisions under Presidential Decree No. 4, according to Information Officer Lorelyn Bayog.
Assessment for NFA accredited retailers is also ongoing for retailers interested in selling NFA rice.
The following are the schedule of renewal of licenses:
* January – Libertad, Pandan and Sebaste
* February – Barbaza, Tibiao and Culasi
* March – Belison, Patnongon, Bugasong, and Laua-an
* April – San Jose and Sibalom
* May – Anini-y, Hamtic and Tobias Fornier
* June – Valderrama and San Remigio
Documentary requirements for NFA license application and renewal include passport-sized ID picture, tax identification number, photocopy of mayor’s permit, barangay permit to operate (if available), official receipt for calibration of weighing scales (if available), and authorization for representative (if necessary).
Additional requirements for corporations, associations, cooperatives, and the likes are Board Resolution authorizing the representative to sign for and in behalf of the entity and Certificate of Registration with Securities and Exchange Commission or any registering agency.
Those applying for a milling license, on the other hand, must bring photocopy of official receipt of Certificate of Registration and front, side and back pictures of the rice mill. (PIA/PN)
