ILOILO City – Around 4:30 a.m. yesterday a car hit a bank’s power generator on General Luna Street. One man died while three others were injured.
The 27-year-old Clarence Gasapo died of severe head and body injuries at St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo. He was a resident of Barangay Hibao-an, Mandurriao district.
His three other companions in a Toyota Vios car sustained injuries – Philip Jhun Abecino, 20; Rustictelo Abecino, 20; and Joan Carmel Savari, 23. Also residents of Barangay Hibao-an, they were treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center.
The car driver, 60-year-old Josefina Savari, was unhurt. She was taken to Police Station 1.
According to the police, the driver and her passengers were all homeward-bound at the time of the accident. She fetched all of them from a restaurant/bar.
Gasapo was in the back seat of the car./PN
