HAMTIC, Antique – A hundred residents here have so far received their first of two doses of the vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

They were vaccinated on May 10.

The recipients included 10 health workers assigned in Hamtic’s Rural Health Unit (RHU), Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), 58 senior citizens and 32 persons with comorbidities.

According to Mayor Julie Pacificador, the vaccine used was by China’s Sinovac.

“Duro gid nga salamat sa inyo pagsarig sa programa kang aton gobyerno, una nga tikang para magbalik ang aton normal nga pagpangabuhi,” said Pacificador.

He was glad the vaccination process was peaceful and orderly, with everyone observing the health protocols.

He urged more healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities to have themselves vaccinated.

“Mag-agto lang kamo rugto…para ma-assess kang aton healthworkers. Sa kadya nga pandemya, importante nga kita makapabakuna,” said Pacificador./PN
