ROXAS City – The market hours here have been shortened due to the surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections.

Effective yesterday, all gates of the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC) opened at 4 a.m. and closed at 5:30 p.m.

According to Market Administrator Heloise Mendoza, all people entering TATC must also wear facemask and face shield.

Also, all TATC lights should be switched off by 6 p.m. and by then all vendors must have left the public market already.

Moreover, sidewalk vending shall be from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. and from 3p.m. to 6p.m. only.

“All vendors are given time to rest early,” Mendoza added. “This initiative is for the benefit of all and just temporary. Kindly cooperate.”

As of May 10, Roxas City had 95 active cases of COVID-19.

Of these, 89 were cases of local transmission, two were healthcare workers, three were frontliners, and one repatriated overseas Filipino./PN
