ILOILO – A joint law enforcement operation led to the apprehension of 11 alleged illegal fishers in the waters off Barangay Buaya, Carles, Iloilo.
Officers of the Carles Municipal Police Station led by Police Major Sonny Boy Garnace and the Bantay Dagat Task Force were conducting seaborne patrol targeting illegal fishing activities in the area on October 1 when they spotted motor banca F/B Remund Joy.
Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the 11 individuals aboard the said motorbanca violated Municipal Ordinance No. 2019-03 or illegal fishing.
The said fishermen, who were from Concepcion town, were taken into custody by the Bantay Dagat Task Force for proper disposition./PN
