BACOLOD City – Task Force Basura (TFB) of the city government recently apprehended 12 persons for littering.
They were given a “first warning”, according to TFB head Wilfredo Geolingo.
The violators dumped garbage in vacant lots and sidewalks in barangays 1, 2, 14, 16, Alijis, Villamonte, Mandalagan, Taculing, Mansilingan, and Felisa.
They used trisikads and tricycles to transport their garbage, Geolingo said.
If they are caught again, the TFB would be hauling them to court, according to Geolingo.
Littering, he said, is a violation of Republic Act 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
