ILOILO – Fourteen members of the Rebolusyonaryong Partidong Manggagawa ng Pilipinas / Revolutionary Proletarian Army / Alex Bongcayao Brigade – Tabara Paduano Group (RPM-P/RPA/ABB-TPG) surrendered to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) firearms, ammunition and explosives.
In coordination with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), the turnover simultaneously took place in Barangay Subog, Maasin, Iloilo and Barangay Guibuangan Tigbauan, Cabatuan, Iloilo on Sept. 8, 7 a.m.
Personnel from the IPPO, Special Action Battalion 6, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, Philippine Army, and other law enforcement agencies were deployed to ensure the safety and security of all participants.
Weapons deposited were composed of seven long firearms, six short firearms, two explosives, and several assorted ammunition.
These were all brought to the headquarters of the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division at Camp Macario Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz.
The disposition of firearms of the RPM-P/RPA/ABB-TPG or KAPATIRAN was part of the agreements in the Clarificatory Implementing Document (CID) signed by the group and the Philippine government in July 19, 2019 towards the completion of the commitments in the 2000 peace agreement./PN
