14th BDCP-ROC Deliberation Clears Almost 400 Barangays in WV

ILOILO City – Three hundred ninety-three barangays in Region 6 coming from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo and Negros Occidental passed the tough process of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and were finally declared “drug-cleared” or “officially unaffected” yesterday, March 19, 2019 at 1:30 PM during the 14th Regional Oversight Committee Deliberation held at the Casa Real de Iloilo, Old Capitol Building Iloilo City.

The ROC Deliberation of Barangays was headed by PDEA Western Visayas Chief Alex M. Tablate, Officer-in-Charge together with the Police Regional Office, Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Health, together with the respective LGUs.

Out of the 522 barangays in the region which submitted their intention for “drug-clearing, only 393 barangays were able to comply with the parameters and the documentary requirements as set forth by the said Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation.

To date, more than 2000 barangays out of more than 4000 barangays in Western Visayas, or 50% more or less, has already been declared by the ROC as either “drug-cleared” or “officially unaffected.”/PN
