16% in Aklan fully vaxxed vs coronavirus

KALIBO, Aklan – The province of Aklan has fully vaccinated 16 percent of its eligible population as of Aug. 23.

From A1 (healthcare workers), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities), and A4 (economic frontliners) groups, 44,188 individuals got their second doses against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) while 84,248 received their first shot.

To achieve herd immunity, Aklan must fully vaccinate 279,214 or 70 percent of its 398,877 population 18 years and older.

The Provincial Health Office-Aklan reported 13,720 healthcare workers got their first doses or 99 percent, while 11,023 or 79 percent of 13,899 individuals belonging to A1 priority list were fully vaccinated.

Aklan has vaccinated 30,542 elderly residents for their first dose or 50 percent, while 20,205 second doses or 33 percent out of 60,837 target population in A2 priority list were also administered.

Meanwhile, 23,682 people with comorbidities or 66 percent of 35,662 eligible population received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.  The province also administered 12,816 second doses so far or 36 percent of individuals in A3 priority list. A total of 16,304 or 47 percent of economic frontline workers received their first jab and 1,544 or four percent were also fully vaccinated.  

How many second doses of vaccines were administered?

Kalibo fully vaccinated 5,283 of its target population, while 5,045 of Malay’s population have received 2nd dose of the vaccine.

Since March, 3,731 people in Nabas has been fully vaccinated, New Washington (3,118), Ibajay (2,765), Numancia (2,727), Banga (2,308), Balete (2,306), Batan (2,030), Madalag (2,014), Makato (1,973), Altavas (1,863) and Malinao (1,793).

Libacao reported 1,672 individuals already received their second dose, Lezo  (1,596), Tangalan (1,260) and Buruanga (919)./PN
