ILOILO – A total of 178 barangays in nine Iloilo localities received a combined P35.6 million in direct financial assistance from the Office of the President under the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang” Program, marking the first batch of beneficiaries in the province.
Each barangay received P200,000, with the checks released on September 17 at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
The first batch covered barangays in Mina, Anilao, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Passi City, Ajuy, Batad, Estancia, and San Rafael.
Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) – Iloilo Province Chapter president Amalia Debuque announced the initial release and advised barangay officials included in the first batch to coordinate with their respective Municipal Liga coordinators and Liga presidents.
The beneficiaries included 14 barangays in Mina – Capul-an, Abat, Guibuangan, Janipa-an West, Cabalabaguan, Janipa-an East, Yugot, Badiangan, Dala, Bangac, Naumuan, Talibong Pequeño, Tolarucan, and Mina West.
In Anilao, 16 barangays were covered: Cag-an, Vista Alegre, Sto. Rosario, Medina, Dangula-an, San Juan Crisistomo, Guipis, Balunos, Manganese, Camiros, Sta. Rita, Sambag Culob, Palaypat Anilao, Mostro, Balabag, and San Carlos.
Banate had 18 beneficiaries – Bularan, Zona Sur, Magdalo, Poblacion, Alacaygan, Dugwakan, Merced, Bariga, Talokgangan, Dela Paz, Bobon, Juanico, Libertad, Managoyapa, Belen, Carmelo, Fuentes, and San Salvador.
Twenty-five barangays in Barotac Nuevo were included: Ilaya Poblacion, Tabuc Suba, Guintas, Lagubang, Jalaud, Igbong, Palaciawan, Baras, Ilauad Poblacion, Linao, Lanas, Tinorian, Monpon, Talisay, Agcuyawan Calsada, Acuit, Cruz, Patag, Sohoton, Salihid, Tubungan, Lico-an, So-ol, Agcuyawan Pulo, and Tabucan.
Passi City had the largest number in the first batch with 35 barangays – Cabunga, Libo-o, Buyo, Bayan, Agdayao, Bitaogan, Mulapula, Mambiranan Grande, Alimono, Poblacion Ilawod, Cadilang, Mantulang, Ayuyan, Magdungao, Agtabo, Batu, Tagubong, Tuburan, Arac, Nueva Union, Cairojan, Jaguimitan, Quinagaringan Grande, Salngan, Dalicanan, Agtambo, Malag-it Pequeño, Gemat-y, Talongonan, Sto. Tomas, Gemomua-Agahon, Imbang Grande, Tubod, Punong, and Gegagjac.
Another 22 barangays in Ajuy received the assistance: Luca, Poblacion, Bay-ang, Tipacla, Nasidman, Pili, Progreso, Tubongan, Culasi, Puente Bunglas, Central Silagon, San Antonio, Mangarocoro, Tanduyan, Punta Buri, Pinay Espinosa, Pinantan Diel, Sto. Rosario, Pinantan Elizalde, Lantangan, Tagubanhan, and Pedada.
Batad had 21 beneficiary barangays – Drancalan, Alapasco, Nangka, Alinsolong, Caw-i, Quizan Florete, Hamod, Salong, Binon-an, Poblacion, Cabagohan, Quiazan Lopez, Sta. Ana, Malico, Calangag, Bulak Sur, Tapi-an, Banban, Embarcadero, Pasayan, and Bolhog.
In Estancia, 19 barangays are covered: Botongon, Gogo, Poblacion Zone 2, Tanza, Bulaqueña, Calapdan, Loguinot, Lonoy, Jolog, Tabu-an, Manipulon, Bayuyan, Bayas, Lumbia, San Roque, Poblacion Zone 1, Poblacion Zone 3, Daan Banwa, and Villa Pani-an.
Completing the first batch are eight barangays in San Rafael – Ilonbukid, Poscolon, San Florentinto, Calaigang, Bagacay, Poblacion, San Dionisio, and San Andres.
Barangays in the remaining Iloilo municipalities have been advised to await further announcements from Debuque regarding succeeding schedules as processing of their documentary requirements continues./PN
