ILOILO City – Daniel Asumbra faces an illegal possession of a firearm charge.
The 18-year-old resident of Barangay Pili, Ajuy, Iloilo was arrested and detained.
He was caught in possession of a homemade .45 pistol, a police report showed.
Asumbra slept in the house of the 62-year-old Nida Ceballos at around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Ceballos saw the firearm tucked in the waist of Asumbra. Sensing danger, she called the police.
The weapon was loaded when officers seized it from Asumbra.
Asumbra was hauled to the detention facility of the Ajuy police station.
He faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
