THE FIRST Radyo Bandera Iloilo Live Reporting Competition, held at the SM City Iloilo Activity Center on April 18, 2023, has been a success.

The competition was divided into two parts: the Senior/Junior High School Category and the Tertiary Category.

Before the final round, the participants underwent a Live Reporting Workshop together with the staff and radio personnel of No. 1 News-FM in Iloilo, Radio Bandera Iloilo.

Future media practitioners were indeed challenged with the on-the-spot details of the news given with only three minutes to prepare before presenting. Some coaches even said it was a big challenge for them to train in the newest competition format, far from the usual newscasting competition.

The audience was also entertained by Radio Bandera Iloilo Disc Jockeys Troy Tisoy and Matcho Kulit who served as hosts.

For the secondary level, Earl Jan Delfin of Iloilo City National High School (NHS) was declared champion, Richill Pasaporte of Pototan Comprehensive NHS was first runner-up and Alana Marapao of Oton NHS was second runner-up.
