ILOILO City – Seventeen sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from two college students in a buy-bust operation carried out by the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Arevalo district police station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday.
From Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo around 2:30 p.m., the following were taken to the district police station:
- Josen Michael Ronzales, 20, of Barangay Poblacion, Jordan Guimaras

Earl Bryan Dola, 19, of Barangay Sarawag, Janiuay, Iloilo
Both were students of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University.
An undercover police officer was able to buy a sachet of shabu from Ronzales for P1,200.
When he realized he was being entrapped, Ronzales ran to the room he was renting.
The cop and the rest of the operatives chased Ronzales. They forced open the room and arrested him.
Dola was in the room so they also arrested him, according to the police.
Dola was sniffing shabu, they claimed.
Fifteen more sachets were confiscated from the suspects, according to Regional Drug Enforcement Unit chief Senior Inspector Kennith Bermejo.
Ronzales was in the Arevalo police stations’ drug watch list, he said.
