BACOLOD City – Two persons died in flashfloods following heavy rains here on March 6.

Five-month-old Jake Lorence Tortogo of Purok Malinong, Barangay Taculing was found dead along the shore of Purok Malipayon, Barangay 35 on Saturday.

The Tortogo family’s house was near a river that overflowed.

The water swept the house away on Friday, according to Executive Assistant Jomarie Vargas, cluster head of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Seven family members were able to swim to safety while Jake Lorence disappeared in the water.
