KALIBO, Aklan – Two men were arrested in an anti-illegal gun operation of the police in Barangay Old Buswang here around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 28.
Police Major Bellshazzar Villanoche, Kalibo police chief, identified the suspects as Michael Franco Yu of Barangay Pusiw, Numancia, Aklan and Odonel Carillo Jr., former barangay councilman of Barangay Bulwang, Numancia.
Joint operatives of the Kalibo police station, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, intelligence units of the Aklan provincial police and regional police office recovered a .45 handgun with two magazines.
The combined value of the seized items reached P23,000, police said.
The suspects failed to present papers attesting to the legality of the gun seized, according to the police.
They faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
