
ILOILO City – More than P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated by authorities during a buy-bust operation on RY Ladrido Street in Barangay San Jose, Ward, Pototan, Iloilo on Monday night, July 21.
Two suspects, identified only as aliases “Boy,” 52, of Pototan, and “Poping,” 45, of Altavas, Aklan, were arrested around 7:25 p.m. by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6) and partner agencies. The two men were tagged as high-value targets in the illegal drug trade.
The operation yielded more or less 510 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P3,468,000, along with drug paraphernalia, a .45 caliber firearm, live ammunition, and a red Suzuki multicab.
The suspects are now under the custody of the Pototan police, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
