BACOLOD City – The Provincial Legal Office in Negros Occidental is filing charges against two more returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) over false declarations during their return to the province.
Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said one of the repatriates was a Sagay City resident from Saudi Arabia and another was a Cadiz City local from Turkey.
They allegedly did not undergo quarantine in Manila and falsified quarantine certificates.
Last week, three returning ROFs also declared themselves as LSIs upon arrival in the province.
Among them was a Pontevedra couple who tested positive for COVID-19 twice since their return to Negros Occidental. Samples taken from them have been sent to the Philippine Genome Center to determine if they have the more contagious variant of COVID-19 first detected in the United Kingdom./PN
