ILOILO City – Antidrug operations in La Paz and Arevalo districts led to the arrest of two suspected pushers, police reports showed.
The 27-year-old Edmund Mendoza was caught in Barangay Baldoza, La Paz where he also lived. Police identified him as a construction worker.
On the other hand Louie Espinosa, 29, was arrested in Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo. Police and antidrug government agents identified her as a former prostitute.
Mendoza sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,000 at around 9:45 p.m. on March 9.
Twelve more sachets of the same substance were seized from the right front pocket of his pants, according to La Paz police station operatives who staged the buy-bust.

Mendoza was detained at the La Paz police station lockup cell.
Officers from the Arevalo police station’s Drug Enforcement Team and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 caught Espinosa some two hours earlier, or around 7:45 p.m.
A resident of Barangay Carmelo, Banate, Iloilo, Espinosa sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P1,000. A gray coin purse seized from her contained five more sachets of the same substance, said the police.
Espinosa was detained at the Arevalo police station custodial facility.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 may be filed against the suspects, police said./PN
