MANILA – Ceres Negros bolstered its lineup in the ongoing 2017 Philippines Football League after signing Negrenses Joshua Dutosme and Nessi Ramos.
Dutosme, a native of Bacolod City, and Ramos, who is from Escalante, Negros Occidental, were both part of the multiple-time champion University of St. La Salle – Bacolod.
The signing materialized during the transfer window to replace veterans Jason de Jong, Jorrel Aristorenas and Simone Rota, who transferred to Davao Aguilas.
“Joshua and Nessi are good additions to the squad,” said Ceres Negros team manager Joshua Dinsay. “Both are veterans from University of St. La Salle and their experiences are useful for the team.”
But Dutosme and Ramos will have to fight for playing time with fellow midfielders Bienvenido Marañon, Kevin Ingreso, Manuel Ott, OJ Porteria, Stephan Schrock, Iain Ramsay, Martin Steuble, and Arnie Pasinabo.
The Risto Vidakovic-mentored squad is currently in fourth place with 25 points on eight wins, a draw and three losses.
But the Negros Occidental-based football team was on a lengthy break in PFL action to give way to their 2017 AFC Cup campaign, where it will face Tajikistan in the two leg inter-zonal playoffs./PN
