PANDAN, Antique – The dream of 23 couples to get married was fulfilled through a mass wedding sponsored by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pandan, Antique.
The mass wedding was held at Malumpati Health Spring and Tourist Resort last March 17.
Mayor Plaridel E. Sanchez VI himself served as solemnizing officer.
There are wedding rites performed before the actual wedding ceremony such as wading in the water by the couple and principal sponsors.
The mass civil wedding is held annually by the LGU in conjunction with the Municipal Civil Registrar Office to provide an opportunity to marry couples who are not eligible to marry.
“The mass wedding is held every year as we give importance to our people because it is one of the most important ways of life as a couple,” Sanchez said in a statement.
Sanchez hopes the coupleās relationship will be fruitful and full of mutual respect.
“May their marriage be fruitful, full of love and understanding,” added Sanchez.
