KALIBO, Aklan – Twenty-three teams from Cebu, Capiz, Iloilo, and Aklan will face off in the 3rd Ati-Atihan Futsal Cup.
The pre-Ati-Atihan Festival event starts today with a juggling competition at CityMall, while games will be on Jan. 6 to 7 at the Aklan Catholic College covered gym, according to Marrion Bautista of the Kalibo Sakeros Football Club.
Organized by the Kalibo Sakeros FC in partnership with the festival organizer Kasafi and the local government, the Ati-Atihan Futsal Cup has boys (born in 2000 and later) and girls (born 1999 and later) divisions.
Competing teams will be divided into two brackets. The top two teams in each bracket after the semifinals will face off in the finals.
Boys division contenders were Iloilo Schools United FC, San Agustin Iloilo FC, Janiuay United FC, Iloilo Christian School FC, Iloilo Young Booters, Ateneo FC, Bitoy’s FC, Global Academy, Aklan Valley High School, Manoc-Manoc High School FC, New Lucena FC, and host Kalibo Sakeros.
On the distaff side, teams included Barotac Nuevo National High School FC, Central Philippine University Team A, Iloilo City National High School FC, Aklan Team, Santa Barbara Futbolilits, New Washington Team, Central Philippine University Team B, Project 1stGoal, Cebu Raskals FC, Capiz High Lady Warriors, Guimbal FC, Manoc-Manoc High School FC, and Kalibo Sakeros.
